Waterland - Low Alcohol IPA

Hailing from the Netherlands, Waterland is a brewery which in the main produce alcoholic beers but the one consistent point is that all their beers are organic. The label proclaims "Certified organically grown." This 0.5% ABV IPA arrives in a 330 ml bottle and when poured creates an impressive head which sustains down the glass, leaving a good amount of lacework behind. A very fragrant nose suggests apricot, spice (ginger?), herbs and earthiness. The taste is just as unusual. Understated, complex and beautifully balanced. There's orange, apricot and melon supported by what I can only describe as a digestive biscuit base. It is a very lightly carbonated beer, giving a soft mouthfeel and a gently sweet finish. There's little bitterness but not because of it being overly sweet. An extremely impressive brew; I only hope Waterland produce more AF beers if this is going to be the standard.
