Newtown Park / Lowtide - Sky At Night Pastry Stout
Sky At Night comes in a 440 ml can and is described as a pastry stout and is vegan, with an ABV of less than 0.5%. Upon pouring the head is lost rather quickly and the beer itself looks more like a dark mild than a traditional stout. The aroma is strongly of coffee. And indeed, the incorporation of chocolate malt, vanilla and cocoa nibs cannot compete in the taste with the heavy use of Brazilian coffee beans. There is a dry woody character accompanying the coffee taste. The mouthfeel is moderately firm and it slips down the throat smoothly, whilst the finish is quite dry. It's a nice enough beer but I'm not sure I'd be looking to buy any Moore.
