Hailing from Germany, Road Runner certainly looks the part in the glass - a stout-black beer with a beige (albeit thin) head. The aroma leaves you in no doubt as to what exactly the beer is all about - the coffee hits you like a double espresso. The taste is more of the same: coffee, coffee and...just a hint of chocolatey sweetness, sitting on a malty base. There's not much hop character, mainly because the coffee element is so strong, it dominates the whole drink. The aftertaste is short and dry.
