Sharp's Brewery - Doom Bar Zero
The Cornish brewer has produced a 0.0% ABV version of its well-known Doom Bar amber ale. The listed ingredients are malted barley, sugar, oats, hops, hop extracts, ascorbic acid and natural flavours. Thankfully there are no unnatural flavours used. The head on the ale quickly dissipates leaving you to appreciate the rich chestnut colour of the beer itself. The malty nose is very prominent and the taste is similarly malty with just a touch of dried fruits. It's a sweet beer that displays very little bitterness. There is a thin mouthfeel but it is nicely carbonated. The finish is quite cloying because of the sweetness. It's big on roasted malts but there's not much else there to complement that or add any interest to the profile.
