Big Drop - Kodama IPL
This beer is a coming together of Sorachi Ace hops (used in Japan's Sapporo beer) and German malts in order to create...an India Pale Lager. Go figure. For my money, I'd just call it a top quality lager. The 440 ml can releases a lovely golden coloured beer with a frothy white head. The aroma is mostly citrussy but also with a touch of honey. Kodama is a very crisp beer with a good sharp bite to it. The mouthfeel is moderate. The overall taste reminds me of the yuzu fruit, but it is combined with a fragrant white wine sweetness. The beer is GF, contains milk lactose and has 97 calories. It is being marketed as part of Big Drop's Summer Series so better get yourself some while it's still fresh.
