Mikkeller - Flemish Primitive Ale with Riesling
One from the Limbo series, this beer incorporates Riesling wine grape juice from Mikkeller's very own vineyards. It is very pale yellow from the bottle and creates a nice white head that soon subsides. The aroma is decidedly white wine-ish: fruity and sharp. The tastes are similarly fruity - lemon, lime, apple and pear in the main. The body is moderately firm and the carbonation level just about right. A sharp finish from a highly acidic tasting drink leaves me in the same quandary as the other Limbo series I've tried - is it a beer? If I was given this to drink without any cues I'd think it was a mixture of white wine and lemonade. A refreshing drink all the same, but I'm scoring it as a beer.
