Uwe - IPA
Another beer from the Uwe brewery in Hamburg, which specialises in AF beers and was set up in only 2018. The label looks quite informative but I don't speak German, so I shall remain in blissful ignorance. It has a sweet malty nose and the hop character is quite restrained for an IPA. On tasting it features caramel and honey notes and the overall palate is well-rounded - nothing dominates on the taste buds. There's a very pleasing bitterness in the aftertaste. This IPA is brewed to the famous Reinheitsgebot purity law, which means (among other things) that it is suitable for vegans. Overall, an excellent beer. Uwe are definitely on my favourite brewers list, their Summer Ale is as equally impressive.
