Nittenauer - Lola Coffee Porter

Coffee can be a very overpowering flavour in a beer, there doesn't seem to be much wiggle room between barely detectable and astringent. This German brewery has used Arabica beans roasted in Germany to provide the caffeine hit in this 0.34% ABV porter. From the 330ml bottle comes a rich dark brew topped with a thick beige head. The aroma is like that from a chilled espresso. The taste is a perfect balance of chocolatey sweetness and the bitterness from the coffee. There is a full, rounded mouthfeel and the carbonation is soft. The dry finish sustains...just long enough before you drink some more.
