Lowtide - Forgot to Take my Pils
A vegan pilsner from the English brewer Lowtide, albeit in a German (Keller) style. The beer has less than 0.5 % ABV and pours a light golden colour from the 440 ml can. As well as pilsner malts there are three types of hop used: Saaz (the classic pilsner hop), Perle and Azacca. The head persists even though there is a low level of carbonation, which makes for a very smooth and soft mouthfeel. Sweet vanilla notes and a touch of mango are the inviting aromas as you bring the glass to the lips. The taste is a very well rounded combination of maltiness, caramel and orange, whilst the finish has a nice bite without being sharp. If this is a Keller pilsner then let's have more Keller pilsners!
