Regent - Renegat
The Regent brewery is owned by Bohemia Regent and is based in Trebon, in the Czech Republic. Mostly the brewery produces alcoholic beers but this is their 0.5 % ABV "pale beer." It comes in a hefty half litre brown bottle. The ingredients are listed as barley malt and hops. On pouring the moderate head soon subsides and the aroma is mainly one of malt and with a touch of floral. Renegat is a decidedly malty tasting brew, the wholemeal bread character sitting on a sweet caramel base. The mouthfeel is thin and watery whilst the finish is more of the same sweetness. The quantity of ale provided is unfortunately not matched by much in the way of quality.
