The Free From Beer Co - IPA
The Free From Beer Co is based in Dorset and currently offer just two AF drinks - a lager and this 0.5 % ABV IPA, which comes in a 330 ml can. The company set up to produce a quality (certified) GF product, and it is also vegan, unpasteurised as well as containing a measly 39 calories per can. The beer utilises malted barley, maltodextrin, together with Azacca and Mandarina Bavaria hops. Upon pouring the head soon dissipates, whilst the aroma is strongly of caramel with a hoppy edge. The flavours are a combination of pine, tangerine, honey and more of that caramel. The mouthfeel is firm and well rounded, no doubt assisted by the use of maltodextrin. The finish has a clean bite to it. My only complaint is that the company doesn't have the sexiest name possible (but clearly aimed at the GF market).
