Bird Brewery - White IPA

The Bird Brewery is based in Amsterdam and mainly produce alcoholic beers. However, this white IPA comes in at just 0.3 % ABV and is dispensed from a brown 330 ml bottle. Upon pouring the beer creates an impressive foamy head that dissipates quite quickly. Ingredients listed are barley malt, wheat malt, oatmeal and hop. There's some serious presence of the latter - the aroma is a very big hit of tropical fruits. On the palate there is a good combination of orange, lemon, mango and grapefruit with just a hint of caramel. There is a modest mouthfeel but just the right level of carbonation. The finish is quite sweet and sticky, rather akin to sherbet. The label promises "tropical" and the aroma certainly delivers that fruity punch, but the sugary finish rather lets it down.
