Maisel & Friends is based in Bayreuth in northern Bavaria and this pale hazy beer is no more than 0.5 % ABV and is brewed using barley malt, hops and yeast - no doubt complying with the famous German beer purity law, the Reinheitsgebot. The label on the 330 ml bottle declares the beer to be both "exciting" and "different." The aroma is citrussy and also with some banana, a little like a wheat beer perhaps. Tastewise there is apple, orange and some maltiness though it is also quite tarty. Erring on the thin side, the mouthfeel is helped by a good level of carbonation - not flat but not overly effervescent. The finish is rather sweet, belying the tarty edge to the taste. Overall, it is indeed "different", but I'm not sure about "exciting."
