Tempest - Sleight of Hand Milk Stout
Tempest is a Scottish brewer set up in 2010, which mainly produces alcoholic drinks, but this unpasteurised milk stout comes in at just 0.5% ABV. The ingredients include lactose, wheat, oats, vanilla, cardamom, fennel, cinnamon, ginger and black pepper. Hence the 330ml can declares it to be a "spiced milk stout." The aroma is dark and alluring with a coffeeish hint. The flavours are a perfectly balanced confection of malty plum pudding and gently spiced hot cross bun. The mouthfeel is rich and rounded with just the right level of carbonation. The finish is gently vanilla sweet but still with that hint of warming spices. Magical.
