Fierce Beer / Mash Gang - Very Small Moose
This moose is a 0.5% ABV chocolate & vanilla imperial stout, a collaboration between Fierce Beer, based in Aberdeen and the London-based Mash Gang. An imperial stout is typically a stout turned up to 11, especially the ABV, so in this case it's a beer going for being big on the flavour front. It is vegan and is dispensed from a 440ml can, filling the glass with a near-black liquid, and supporting a frothy beige head. There is a rich and sweet aroma that translates into a beer with a very full mouthfeel albeit low carbonation. The barley, wheat and oats provide a solid base for the chocolate and vanilla notes whilst the finish is smooth and creamy with not much in the way of hoppiness. It may be a small moose but it's a beast of a beer.
