Merakai - This Is A Thirst Trap
Mosaic and Ekuanot Cryo are the hops used in this vegan pale ale from the East Sussex brewer, which when dispensed from the 440ml can creates a good solid frothy head. The beer also utilises mango and papaya in with the more traditional barley, oats and wheat. The whole point is to create a tropical fruit bomb - the hops used perfectly match the fruit puree - and in that it fully succeeds. From the initial aroma through to the lingering finish, it's fruit all the way. The body is quite light and there's a touch of bitterness without any sort of malt base. Easy to drink and makes for a refreshing ale on a warm sunny day.
