Hawkshead - Lighter Times
Brewed in Cumbria, hence the strapline "Beer from the Lakes", Lighter Times is a 0.5% ABV pale ale, brewed from barley, wheat and American hops. From the can, it pours a lively tangerine colour and creates a decent white head which persists well. The aroma is gentle, nothing in-your-face, just some citrus fruit and sweet malt. In the mouth Lighter Times reveals itself to be a gentle brew - grassy and pines notes with a pleasing butterscotch base. Strange then that on the can there's a strong emphasis on describing "big" flavours. Not my impression at all, but it's a very enjoyable beer, as restrained as it is. Delightful.
