Shallow person that I am, I was already predisposed to liking this 0.34% ABV beer because I like the label. Imported from Germany, this Brauhaus Nittenauer IPA boasts four types of hop in the recipe: Chinook, Callista, Simcoe and Mosaic. It has a very fresh aroma of tropical fruits and pine. The taste has a mellow caramel base with a topping of tangy fruit. A light fizziness precedes a crisp finish and an aftertaste of citrus. The flavours combine well and it's no wonder this freIPA (!) is award-winning. The overall balance of the beer's features is spot on. A rule of thumb seems to be developing for AF beers - if it's German, it's good. Top marks.
