Stride - Dive In Pale Ale
Stride Brands Ltd is based in London and this pale ale is aimed at the health drinks market - declaring itself to be isotonic and a source of vitamin B12. The beer is also vegan. As a runner myself, something other than a post-run glass of water is always going to be welcome. The ABV is < 0.5 % and the 330 ml can has quite a tactile label wrapped around it so it both feels good in the hand as well as having a nice design. On pouring, a generous head is formed which persists well. A distinctive tropical fruit aroma greets you as you go to take a sip and this is also to be found as you dive in to taste - a sweet combination of mango, grapefruit and pineapple. The body feels very thin and there is rather a lot of fizziness. The finish is clipped and quite hoppy. Dive In is certainly a refreshing drink but it's not a beer that will be getting on too many top podiums.
